Giving Your Senior Dog Every Advantage for an Active Life
"I started Squirt on a good diet and Platinum Performance right away when I rescued him. He is now a happy, healthy, super well adjusted dog. He excels in obedience and is learning agility. He earned his Canine Good Citizen title. He is also a sensitive visitor to a nursing home - all the residents and staff perk up when he walks in. But most importantly, Squirt is an amazing companion and buddy."
Supplementing the diet with L-Carnitine, like that found in Beta Lip-Ox®, helps support the body's natural ability to use fat as an energy source for weight management. For best results, supplementation should be used synergistically with a good exercise program.
Fatty acids are major constituents of lipid membranes and nervous tissues, and are necessary for normal skin structure and function. Although there are several classes of fatty acids, there is much interest in the omega-6 and omega-3 families. Omega-6 fatty acids induce pro-inflammatory responses. In contrast, omega-3 fatty acids promote normal healthy levels of inflammation. Although fatty acid deficiencies in dogs are rare, they can result from poorly-formulated diets or from the consumption of foods that have undergone excessive oxidative damage and have a high level of rancidity. A dull, dry coat and hair loss are common signs of fatty acid deficiencies.
"Posie is my 10 plus year old PWD. She is my constant companion and a certified therapy dog-she helps kids in special day class and at Juvenile Hall. She was showing signs of stiffness so we started her on Platinum CJ. She is now able to jump into my truck again and accompanies me on my long morning walks. Thanks, Platinum."
