After spending many of his earlier years playing golf, Ed missed swimming. In high school, he began a disciplined training schedule that earned him a spot on a collegiate team and the chance to compete. Today, he is one of the most well respected and known swimmers in the World. No one has ever seen an athlete reach such high levels in such a short period of time. Ed capped his meteoric rise by breaking numerous World and American Records and winning a Gold and Silver Medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Despite all this, Ed sufferers from exercise induced asthma. He believes he lost out on his chance to compete in the 2004 Summer Olympics due to an over-chlorinated Olympics trial's pool, which obstructed his breathing.
